The ultimate truth is not dependent on any books or any religion or belief of God or religious rituals.+
Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sankara does not need the support of any Scripture or Revelation like the Veda. For it is based, not upon the varying theological fancies, which are as numerous as the sands of the sea, but upon reason, the common heritage of all mankind, irrespective of color or creed or clime.
Scriptures are not needed in the pursuit of truth. Even the Upanishads and the sages of truth declare the same.
The ultimate truth has to be ascertained without the scriptures by realizing the Self is neither the waking entity nor the dream entity, but the invisible Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. In the realm of the truth, form, time, and space are created out of a single stuff. That single stuff is consciousness.
Realizing the single stuff as the ultimate truth is Self-realization or truth realization. To realize this truth, there is no need for the scriptures.
The ultimate truth has to be realized first; only then is it possible to know what the scriptures are saying.
Scriptures are being added from time to time. This process will go on. There is no final authority among them. One contradicts the other: duality reigns supreme.
I quote Scriptural citation only after deeper verification of reality and proving the truth, to point out that the scriptures teach the same thing. If one quotes them before having demonstrated truth, then it is scholasticism.
Self-knowledge cannot be attained by the study of the scriptures and intellectual understanding or by bookish knowledge. Therefore, there is no use in studying the scriptures and other scriptures to acquire nondual wisdom.
That is why Buddha rejected the scriptures, and even Sage Sankara indicated that the ultimate truth lies beyond religion, the concept of God, and scriptures.
There is only one Reality to be known, the same for all seekers, but the ways to it are hidden by religion. Self-discovery is the only way towards the non-dual Absolute without any religious doctrines, which will help the seekers to unfold the mystery of the illusion in which we all are searching for the truth of our true existence.
People need to hear words of wisdom until facts speak louder than words, and if here one knows it is not, there is a great loss. Hence, seeing the Real in all beings, wise men become immortal on departing from this world.
The Upanishads are Self-contradictory. Every pundit even gives conflicting interpretations of them. The final authority, therefore, is using one’s own reason. One should apply their reason to them.
The scriptures are for the ignorant masses, who wholly accept the material world as it presents itself. Gnana is for those who have begun to realize that things are not what they seem.
The Scriptures are of value only when dealing with persons who are incapable of understanding the truth. They have no value as authority for those who use reason.
I quote only verified citations from the scriptures. I need no scriptures, but I quote them after deeper verification.
The ultimate truth is not dependent on any books or any religion, or Gods based on blind belief or religious rituals.
All religions are dependent on their religious scriptures or holy books and their Gods based on blind belief.
Without their religious scriptures, holy books, and gods based on blind faith and blind belief, religion ceases to exist.
Religion holds its scriptures and holy books as proof. The truth is hidden by the universe in which we exist. No books or a Guru can help us to find the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.
Religious truth is limited by form, time, and space, whereas the ultimate truth is a formless, timeless, and spaceless existence. Thus, religious truth has nothing to do with the ultimate truth.
Even without the scriptures and holy books, we can get the truth of the whole, which is beyond form, time, and space. Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana is not had by resorting to a Guru, nor by the study of scripture, nor by good deeds: it is attained only through inquiry and reasoning inspired by the words of wisdom of Gnanis. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
