If you think the Soul is within your body, then you will never be able to realize the Self, which is hidden by the illusory universe.
The invisible Soul is the universe, and the universe is the Soul, the Self. If you think the invisible Soul is within your body, then you will never be able to realize the Self, which is hidden by the universe.
Perfect understanding of ‘what is what leads to the realization of the Self, the Soul, which is the ultimate truth or Brahman.
Sage Sankara: ~ “VC~ All this universe, which through ignorance appears as of diverse forms, is nothing else but Brahman, which is absolutely free from all the limitations of human thought.
The universe is verily consciousness. Without realizing this, truth is impossible to get self-realization.
The universe is not different from the Mind because the universe itself is mind. The mind is not different from the Soul because the mind is the dualistic illusion created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.
Sage Sankara: ~VC~ if the universe be true, let it then be perceived in the state of deep sleep also. As it is not at all perceived, it must be unreal and false like dreams.
The ‘I-centric’ gurus and their teaching will block you from realizing the Self, which is hidden by the ‘I’. The ‘I’ itself is ignorance.
The Self is not the ‘I’. The Self is the invisible Soul. The invisible Soul, the Self, is without form, time, and space.
Space cannot exist without form and time. The form, time, and space appear together and disappear together. In reality, the form, time, and space are one in essence; that essence is the invisible Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.
Consciousness alone is real, and form, time, and space are mere illusions. Consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman.
Sage Sankara says: - VC-47 All the effects of ignorance, root, and branch, are burnt down by the fire of knowledge, which arises from discrimination between these two—the Self and the not-Self.
Sage Sankara says: - VC-162- There is no liberation for a person of mere book-knowledge, howsoever well-read in the philosophy of Vedanta, so long as one does not give up the false identification with the body, sense organs, etc., which are unreal.
The invisible Soul is not within the body. The invisible Soul is the whole universe because the universe is merely an illusion created out of the invisible Soul.
The Self is not the one that is born, lives, and dies, whereas the Soul is birthless and deathless because the invisible Soul is the ever formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.
If you realize the world in which you exist is created out of a single clay and that single clay is consciousness, then there is nothing else to realize. Knowledge of the Single stuff is the Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.
Sage Sankara says: ~ “The exercise in discrimination between real and unreal and renunciation of the false is real meditation, then why are you indulging in other types of meditation.
Sage Sankara goes on to say: ~A sickness not cured by saying the word “medicine.” You must take the medicine. Liberation does not come by merely saying the word “Brahman.” Brahman must be experienced. Until you allow this apparent universe to dissolve from your consciousness until you have realized Brahman, how can you find liberation just by saying the word Brahman? The result is merely noise. Until a man has destroyed his enemies and taken possession of the splendor and wealth of the kingdom, he cannot become a king by simply saying, “I am a king.”
A buried treasure is not uncovered by merely uttering the words: “Come forth.” You must follow the right directions, dig, remove the stones and earth from above it, and then make it your own. In the same way, the pure truth of the Atman is buried under Maya and the effects of Maya.:~Santthosh Kumaar
