The ignorant intellectual people of their own ignorance, yet wise in their own esteem, these deluded men, proud of their vain learning and accumulated knowledge, go round and round like the blind led by the blind.+

Religion and yoga deal with lower knowledge. The Sages of truth ignored these rituals and went in search of higher knowledge. ... Such rituals and yoga are unsafe rafts for crossing the Ocean of ignorance. Doomed to shipwreck are those who try to cross the ocean of ignorance on these poor rafts. The ignorant intellectual people of their own ignorance, yet wise in their own esteem, these deluded men, proud of their vain learning and accumulated knowledge, go round and round like the blind led by the blind.

Sage Sankara said:~ Talk as much philosophy as you like, worship as many Gods as you please, observe ceremonies and sing devotional hymns, but liberation will never come, even after a hundred aeons, without realizing the Oneness.

Advaitic wisdom is nothing to do with egocentric Advaitic orthodoxy and other dualistic philosophies. If you are a seeker of truth, nothing but the truth, the seeker has to drop all his accumulated knowledge and start afresh.

As the seeker digs into older posts and blogs, old as well as new, he will start finding answers for all his cobwebs of doubts and confusion.

Atmic path makes the seeker think and to reason independently, without outer spoon feeding. Therefore, there is a need to read, reflect, think, and reason again, and again umpteen times until it is firmly rooted in the subconscious. Once the Advaitic firmly takes root in the subconscious, then you get the soulcentric vision of the universe.

Without reading the full subject matter, coming to judgment on your own point of view is not wisdom. Holding your accumulated knowledge and passing opinion without knowing the subject matter discussed fully will not yield wisdom. Mixing religious views in the Atmic path is a great hindrance in realizing the truth hidden by ignorance. The religious orthodox knowledge has nothing to do with the Atmic path.

Atmic path is not for those who think whatever they have read and heard from others is the ultimate truth. Such a mindset is not fit to acquire Self-knowledge. Such a mindset is a prisoner of their intellectual wealth. Their ‘I know attitude blocks them from realizing the truth is hidden by the ‘I’.

There is no need to agree or disagree with what is said in postings or blogs. By agreeing or disagreeing, the wisdom will not dawn. Those who agree will move further and reach the ultimate end of their understanding, and those who disagree will remain stagnant with their own intellectual wealth.

The Atmic path is not for those who think they know the ultimate truth because they have studied and mastered Vedanta and other scriptures. The Atmic path is for those who are seriously seeking the truth.

Atmic path is not a question-and-answer session. Atmic path is not the path of exchanging views and opinions. I have bifurcated what is not needed to realize the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space. I respect everyone's views and wisdom it does not mean that I agree with their views and opinions.

Some people expect me to comment on their individual views and opinions, and experiences. I do not want to mix others' views, opinions, and experiences, which is of no use in the Atmic path. I share only what is revealed to me from the inner core.

Self-knowledge will not arise from the exchange of views and opinions, and arguments. The accumulated knowledge is not a yardstick to realize the truth beyond form, time, and space.

In the path of wisdom, the discussion of unimportant subject matter creates a hindrance. The path of truth is the path of verification. Nothing has to be accepted as truth without verification. Agreeing to disagree causes unnecessary friction.

Sharing is giving info for the sake of goodness. As with all things, achieving a balance of peaceful communications is established with respect, humility, understanding, and patience. Balancing an achievement is harder.

The seeker has to stop passing unimportant opinions in this Atmic path. Atmic path is not the path of discussion, but the path of realization of the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.

Mundaka Upanishads: ~ “So-called spiritual pundits and learned are called children because a child takes whatever it thinks as truth. The question never occurs to children, “Is what I have seen or thought really the truth?" (P.334 line 9)

Scriptures are not needed in pursuit of truth. Even the Upanishads and the sages of truth declare the same.

The ultimate truth has to be ascertained without the scriptures by realizing the Self is neither the waking entity nor the dream entity, but the formless Soul which is present in the form of consciousness. In the realm of truth the form, time, and space are created out of a single stuff. That single stuff is consciousness. Realizing the single stuff as the ultimate truth is Self-realization or truth realization. To realize this truth, there is no need for the scriptures.

The ultimate truth has to be realized first, then only it is possible to know what the scriptures are saying.

Scriptures are being added to from time to time. This process will go on. Is there a final authority among them? One contradicts the other: duality reigns supreme.

I quote Scriptural citation only after verifying reality and proving the truth, to point out that the scriptures teach the same thing. If one quotes them before having demonstrated truth, then it is scholasticism.

Self-knowledge cannot be attained by taking sanyasa, by the study of the scriptures and intellectual understanding, or by bookish knowledge. Therefore, there is no use in studying the scriptures and other scriptures to acquire the non-dual wisdom. That is why Buddha rejected the scriptures, and even Sage Sankara indicated that the ultimate truth lies beyond religion, the concept of God, and scriptures.

There is only one Reality to be known, the same for all seekers, but the ways to it are hidden by religion. Self-discovery is the only way towards the non-dual Absolute without any religious doctrines, which will help the seekers to unfold the mystery of the illusion in which we all are searching for the truth of our true existence.

Mundaka Upanishads: ~ “So-called spiritual pundits and learned are called children because a child takes whatever it thinks as truth. The question never occurs to children, “Is what I have seen or thought really the truth?" (P.334 line 9)

That is why Sage Sri, Sankara declare: ~ VC 56. Neither by Yoga, nor by Sankhya, nor by good work, nor by learning, but by the realization of one's identity with Brahman is Liberation possible, and by no other means.

58. Loud speech consisting of a shower of words, the skill in expounding the Scriptures, and likewise erudition - these merely bring on a little personal enjoyment to the scholar, but are no good for Liberation.

59. The study of the Scriptures is useless so long as the highest Truth is unknown, and it is equally useless when the highest Truth has already been known.

60. The Scriptures, consisting of many words, are a dense forest that merely causes the mind to ramble. Hence, men of wisdom should earnestly set about knowing the true nature of the Self.

61. For one who has been bitten by the serpent of Ignorance, the only remedy is the knowledge of Brahman. Of what avail are the Vedas and (other) Scriptures, Mantras (sacred formulae), and medicines to such a one?

62. A disease does not leave off if one simply utters the name of the medicine, without taking it; (similarly) without direct realization, one cannot be liberated by the mere utterance of the word Brahman.

63. Without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the Self, how is one to achieve Liberation by the mere utterance of the word Brahman? — It would result merely in an effort of speech.

64. Without killing one’s enemies and possessing oneself of the splendor of the entire surrounding region, one cannot claim to be an emperor by merely saying, ‘I am an emperor’.

65. As a treasure hidden underground requires (for its extraction) competent instruction, excavation, the removal of stones and other such things lying above it and (finally) grasping, but never comes out by being (merely) called out by name, so the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by Maya and its effects, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, followed by reflection, meditation and so forth, but not through perverted arguments.

66. Therefore, the wise should, as in the case of disease and the like, personally strive by all the means in their power to be free from the bondage of repeated births and deaths.

Then there is no need for the scriptures, religion, and the idea of God. One has to be more rational to realize the Advaitic truth, which is the ultimate truth or scientific truth.

It takes time for the seeker to gain the perfect understanding of ‘what is truth’ and ‘what is untruth’. It takes time for the invisible Soul, the Self, to wake up from the sleep of ignorance, and it takes time for one to realize the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
