The Self is neither the waking entity nor the Self is the dream entity but the Self is the invisible unborn Soul.+

The dream remains as a reality until waking takes place. The waking experience becomes the experience-less state in deep sleep. The experience- less state or deep sleep also reality until waking takes place.

Deeper Self-search reveals the fact that the Self is neither the waking entity nor the Self is the dream entity but the Self is the invisible Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Consciousness is the substance and witness of the three states. The substance and witness of the three states are one in essence and that essence is consciousness.

From the standpoint of the invisible Soul, the Self, the three states are non-existent as a reality because the three states are merely an illusion created out of onsciousness. There is no second thing exists other than consciousness. Hence is nondual. Thus, consciousness alone is real and eternal.

Some thinkers object that the difference between experience (waking or dream) and experience-less state (deep sleep) are like different part seen of the single substance. But without deeper Self-search how can anyone prove that it is the same substance and how to know that others are seeing the same substance.

One will not be able to know the substance without realizing that the Self is not form but formless Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

From the standpoint of invisible Soul the Self the three states are one in essence. Thus, the three states are created out single substance. Thus the Soul or consciousness is the ultimate reality or Brahman.

No one has ever seen God or world in deep sleep. The nature of the Soul, the innermost Self is like deep sleep. Deep sleep is still the state of ignorance because one has the idea of the deep sleep experience only in waking experience, which itself is the state of ignorance.

The Advaitic wisdom dawns only in the midst of waking experience. When ignorance vanishes through wisdom, than the Self is an awareness of its own formless nondual true nature in the midst of duality (waking).

Seeker has to burn down the ignorance with the fire of wisdom by realizing that Self is neither the waking entity nor the Self is dream entity but the Self is the invisible Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

The invisible Soul is the formless substance witness of the three states (witnessed). The word witness is got by eliminating the witnessed. The man and his experience of the world are within the witnessed.

Thus, man cannot be considered as the witness because he is part of the illusion. The witness is the one which witnesses the man and the world together. Man is unaware of the existence of the invisible Soul, the witness of the three states (witnessed), which comes and goes in succession.

Everyone thinks the witness is the ego but the ego body and the world are part of the witnessed. The witness is the Soul, the Self which is present in the form of consciousness.

The three states, which appears and disappears and they are impermanent. The invisible Soul, the witness of the three states is permanent. Thus, holding the waking entity as the witness and trying to realize the ultimate truth leads to all sorts of doubts and confusions.

One has to analyze dual (waking and dream) and nondual (deep sleep) experiences in order to realize the existence of the formless witness, which witnesses the coming and going of the three states. The invisible Soul, the witness is hidden by the three states but it is without the three states. And it is also apart from the three states. It is hidden by the three states because it is the formless, timeless, and spaceless substance of the three states. It is without the three states as their formless, timeless, and spaceless witness. And it is apart from the three stated because it is not an entity or identity within the three states. In reality, the substance and witness of the three states are one in essence. The essence is the invisible Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. Thus, consciousness alone is real and eternal, and all else is merely illusion.

The look of an object will depend upon the medium through which the observer views it. In fact, our mental and intellectual conditions determine the three states, observed and experienced. The commoner viewing the three states will see differently from a Gnani viewing the same three states. Each one interprets the three states that they see in terms of their existing knowledge. The commoner sees everything based on the ego, therefore, experiences the birth, life, death and the world as a reality, whereas a Gnani sees everything as consciousness and he is fully aware that there is no second thing exists other than the invisible Soul or consciousness.: ~ Santthosh Kumaar
